Swapnil Kothari

Swapnil is the founder and Managing Partner of his law firm, “S. Kothari & Co. (Advocates & Solicitors)” and practising in Mumbai since the past twenty-three years.

He practices in the corporate sphere with an emphasis on Banking Law, Property Law, Project Finance, Joint Ventures and Mergers & Acquisitions including some litigation/arbitration, IT-related matters and high-profile NRI investments. His clients include major shipping and pharmaceutical companies, international banks, domestic banks and financial institutions, and other high-profile NRIs and individuals. A commerce graduate of N. M. College, after his LL.B. from Govt. Law College, he pursued his LL.M. (International & Comparative Law) from Georgetown in May 1995 and worked with Slaughter And May, London and Jones Day, Cleveland and Amarchand Mangaldas, Mumbai for a couple of years before setting up his office here.

Oft-quoted in the Times of India on seminal legal issues and a panelist on several Super PrimeTime shows on major National Channels, he is also on the Board of several Fortune 500 Indian companies.
